I’m about to get on a plane, making my return to the Sunshine State. Bittersweet is the only way to describe leaving New York. My last couple of days here were lovely, and overall, I felt like it was a summer well spent. There’s really no where else I would have rather been for the last two months, which was filled with so much adventure, I can’t even remember half of the things I did.
The next week and a half is going to fly. There’s so much to do before I get back to Tallahassee!! More crazy, fun times ahead.
Already!? Time is flying! My week in oceanside will come to an end tomorrow, but there is still much to do. Met/phillies game in an hour, and then we’re going to the Nautical Mile. Tomorrow we’re spending the day in the city, and then I’m back in Hewlett for my last week in New York. It’s definitely bittersweet to be leaving, but I’m ready for all that awaits me.
Guess who has tickets to see the Yankee’s on Thursday?!
MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME, ME, ME, ME!!!!
OMG I’M SO DISGUSTINGLY EXCITED!!
Then I get to take a break from Hewlett, and chill in Oceanside for a week, then another week in Hewlett, and I’m back home. It’s nuts!! Only 19 days left of my New York get away. Lucky for me, coming back is nbd since I have so many awesome things to look forward to in Florida. :D
I don’t even experience this in South Florida during the summer, but I keep getting these little random mosquito bites. IT SUCKS. :P
Yesterday was a big day for me…kinda. It marked the half way point of my vacation in New York. It marked that in exactly four weeks, I’ll be on a plane back to Florida. It also ended my time living in Brooklyn with my aunt since she’s leaving for Florida today. I’m going to miss all of her extremely inappropriate jokes and of course, generally being in Brooklyn.
However, this ending leads to a new beginning, so here I am living in Long Island for the next four weeks. Upon my arrival here, I was hit with this sudden sense of adventure. Truly, it’s at the opposite end of the spectrum in comparison to Brooklyn. It’s like my vacation has started all over. Everything around me is new and I’m filled with curiosity. This neighborhood is mostly filled with middle to upper class Jewish people versus druggies and drug dealers (whose entertainment I’ll miss dearly) haha. This area reminds me of a suburb except it’s way cooler because there are actually things to do. My cousin seems to know the area well, and promises fun on my behalf. She mentioned “Pacha’s.” HOLYYYYY SHIT IF THAT WORKS OUT.
In a couple of hours, I’ll be going with her to bid farewell to one of her friends leaving for Europe. We’re getting bagels.
Two things New York has that can’t compare to anywhere else in the world: Pizza and Bagels.
Chinatown was a freaking mad house. They seriously have the most odd things available for purchase. I found a bunch of cool stuff, and bargained like a champ. I felt legit, yo. It was a little annoying getting around just because there were so many people and they don’t watch where they’re going, or walk really slow. Almost got my ass kicked though for opening my mouth though. hahahaha GOOD TIMES.
I probably should have posted this awhile ago….
SO, The Dodo’s. They played an amazing set. It was just as I imagined it would be. I appreciated being able to see how they played together, especially when it comes to the drums. Personally, it’s hard for me to imagine the break down when I simply listen to it since it gets so intense. What’s even better? I was right in the front. No tall asshole, stupid bitch, or lame couple, blocking my view. I could reach up and touch them if I wanted to.
At the end of it all, I talked to Logan, who was SO NICE. We talked about Tallahassee, and how they should do another show there. A few days later, I learn they’re playing a show in Tallahassee in September. No coincidence, ya know what I mean!? If you can go to this show, do it.
